Speed Tank gadgets

Blast Boot

Blast Boot is a high-speed leap that can be used offensively or defensively. Nintendo's description explicitly supports both closing distance and escaping danger. It should be treated as a mobility tool with an attack component, not simply a damage skill.

Dash Bomb

Dash Bomb propels the player forward, sideways or backward and produces a bomb explosion. Its multidirectional movement distinguishes it from Blast Boot and may make it useful for repositioning while damaging a pursuing group.

Booyarang

Booyarang is thrown to strike enemies, stays airborne for a short time and then returns. Nintendo has not published its hit count, cooldown, range or whether positioning can cause multiple passes through the same target.

Power Tank gadgets

Splatchet

Splatchet performs a quick, wide slash and is specifically described as capable of breaking tough shields. It is the clearest confirmed armor-breaking tool among the nine announced gadgets.

Splatellites

Splatellites spin around the Mechanic, attack with ink and coat the ground. This combines protection, area damage and turf creation, although exact duration and orbit behavior remain unknown.

Spinwheel

Spinwheel moves forward while swirling and spraying ink. It pushes back Salmonids that make contact and can lock on to Boss Salmonids. Nintendo has not published which bosses can resist the pushback or how targeting is selected.

Tactical Tank gadgets

Shot Pot

Shot Pot is a deployable turret that attacks enemies automatically. It supports holding an area or adding damage while the player handles another target. Placement limits, lifetime and target priority are not yet published.

Bombloons

Bombloons can be linked together. Shooting them triggers a large blast, making setup and positioning part of the mechanic. The maximum number of linked balloons and whether allies can detonate them are unknown.

Tether Wail

Tether Wail connects to the Tank with a powerful laser. Nintendo has not specified whether the beam automatically tracks, whether movement can redirect it or whether it passes through multiple enemies.

Gadget parts and customization

Gadget parts are collected during island excursions and inserted into available slots. Nintendo gives the following examples of possible modifications:

  • Increased damage.
  • Faster fire rate.
  • Longer duration.
  • Ink explosions.
  • Knockback gas.

These examples show that the system can alter both numerical performance and behavior. Nintendo has not published part rarity tiers, stacking rules, slot counts per gadget or a complete list of effects.

Gadget slots and progression

Each Tank begins with space for two gadgets. As a Tank develops, it can gain additional enhancements, including the ability to equip three gadgets. Shiver helps craft gadgets at the Gadget Workshop, while Tank upgrades occur at the Mechanic's Shack.

Do not assume that all three slots are unlocked at the same character level or that every Tank follows an identical progression path. Those details have not been disclosed.

Are there more than nine gadgets?

Yes, or at minimum Nintendo strongly indicates that the announced list is not exhaustive. The UK product page says players can discover more gadgets while progressing. The safest wording is “nine publicly detailed gadgets,” not “all nine gadgets in the game.”
